“RateShopper”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Rate Shopper Pty Ltd (ABN 58 653 611 717). “You” means the individual using our website, forms, communications or related services.
Our licensed credit partner is Straw Financial Services Pty Ltd trading as You’re Welcome Finance (ACL 504512). In these Terms, “You’re Welcome Finance” or “YWF” means Straw Financial Services Pty Ltd trading as You’re Welcome Finance (ACL 504512).
RateShopper is a Credit Representative (CRN 572868) of Straw Financial Services Pty Ltd (ACL 504512). RateShopper is not a lender and does not provide credit advice or Credit Assistance.
“Credit Assistance” has the meaning given in the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) (NCCP Act) and includes suggesting you apply for, or assisting you to apply for, a particular credit contract with a particular credit provider.
“Indicative Options” or “Indicative Rates” are non-binding rate and repayment illustrations prepared using the information you provide and available product data. Indicative Options are not offers or approvals and are subject to each lender’s assessment and credit policy.
“LenderCheck” is a deeper, score-safe review carried out by You’re Welcome Finance that considers your income, regular expenses, existing debts, employment and property information against a chosen lender’s credit policy to give you more confidence before you apply.
RateShopper operates an online service that collects information about your goals and circumstances and shares that with their licensed credit partner, You’re Welcome Finance, who will provide the indicative rate options. RateShopper is not a lender and does not provide credit advice or Credit Assistance. All Credit Assistance is provided exclusively by You’re Welcome Finance (ACL 504512). If you choose to progress beyond Indicative Options, you will deal with You’re Welcome Finance for any Credit Assistance and with the relevant lender for any application and credit contract.
Before lender names or specific products are disclosed to you, You’re Welcome Finance will provide its Credit Guide and may require your acknowledgement of receipt. We may require you to acknowledge receipt of the Credit Guide within the RateShopper flow before revealing lender names or facilitating any Credit Assistance.
If you select a preferred option, You’re Welcome Finance may conduct a LenderCheck. LenderCheck is a deeper, score-safe review of your information, including income, regular expenses, existing debts, employment and property details, against the chosen lender’s credit policy. LenderCheck does not affect your credit score. If you later submit a formal application, the lender may conduct a credit check.
Indicative Options are estimates only and may change without notice. We do not guarantee that you will be approved for credit, achieve a particular rate, or realise any saving. Final pricing, terms and approval are determined solely by the lender following its assessment and credit policy.
RateShopper may receive a referral fee or commission from a broker or lender if you proceed with a loan introduced through our service. This does not affect the rate, fees or loan options made available to you. You’re Welcome Finance will provide any statutory commission and conflict disclosures required under the NCCP Act.
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our service, you authorise us to collect your details and share them with You’re Welcome Finance and our service providers for the purposes of preparing Indicative Options, conducting LenderCheck if requested, and assisting with any application you choose to pursue. We may also disclose information to lenders or their service providers only if you ask us or You’re Welcome Finance to proceed. Further details about collection, use, disclosure, overseas storage and your rights are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Any timeframes stated on our website or in communications (for example, “1–2 business hours”) are targets only and not guarantees. Product availability, promotions and any negotiated rates are where available and may be changed, withdrawn or replaced by lenders at any time without notice.
Content on our website and in our tools (including comparisons, articles and FAQs) is general information only and does not consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. It is not financial, legal or tax advice, is not a recommendation, and does not constitute an offer of credit.
Any calculators, estimators or repayment illustrations are for illustrative purposes only. They rely on assumptions and inputs that may not reflect lender assessment. Results are not quotes or offers and are subject to lender assessment and credit policy.
You warrant that the information you provide is true, accurate and complete, and that you are authorised to provide it. You agree to promptly update information that changes and to use the website and services only for lawful purposes.
You must not misuse the website, interfere with its security or functioning, attempt to access data without authority, or use automated means to scrape, harvest or index our content except as permitted by applicable law.
The website, its content and underlying technology are owned or licensed by RateShopper. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not reproduce, adapt, distribute or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
Our website may link to third-party websites and tools. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk. You should review the terms and privacy policies of those sites.
With your consent, we may send you marketing communications. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Operational and service communications relating to your enquiry may continue even if you opt out of marketing.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations and liabilities in connection with the website and services. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having the services resupplied.
You indemnify us against loss, liability and expense arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the website or misuse of our services, except to the extent caused by our negligence or breach.

If your complaint relates to Credit Assistance, you may also raise it with You’re Welcome Finance, including escalation to its external dispute resolution scheme AFCA, as described in You’re Welcome Finance’s Credit Guide.
You consent to documents (including the Credit Guide) being provided electronically and agree that electronic acknowledgements and signatures are valid and binding to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms take effect when published on this page. The “Last updated” date above will be amended accordingly.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
